Making realistic solar diagnostics practical.

At the Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics, I am developing data-driven methods to make three-dimensional non-LTE inversions of the solar chromosphere more tractable. The work combines realistic radiative-MHD simulations, radiative transfer, and neural networks to extract magnetic and thermodynamic information from spectropolarimetric observations of lines such as Hα and Ca II 8542 Å, with applications to data from current and next-generation solar telescopes.
