Harsh Mathur
Solar physicist.

Harsh Mathur is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions research fellow at the Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics, University of Oslo. I use polarized light, radiative-transfer modelling, and machine learning to study magnetic fields in the solar chromosphere.

From photons to physical insight.

My work asks how the magnetic field changes with height through the Sun’s lower atmosphere, and how those changes govern the transport of mass and energy. I combine observations in Hα and calcium lines with non-LTE inversions and realistic simulations, while developing data-driven methods that make large spectropolarimetric datasets tractable.
